FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Direct answers about the platform and its scientific boundaries.

01What is ChemNexum?

ChemNexum is a computational R&D platform for structuring research questions, evaluating candidate materials and formulations, running versioned calculations and connecting predictions to experimental validation.

02Is ChemNexum an AI platform?

Intelligent workers may structure intent and explain verified results, but numerical values must come from data, deterministic calculations, scientific engines or versioned models.

03Does ChemNexum replace laboratory testing?

No. It helps prioritize which candidates deserve physical testing and records the comparison between predictions and measurements.

04What types of materials can ChemNexum analyse?

The architecture supports modular material classes. The first operational vertical is bioplastic formulation; other capabilities are introduced only when reliable methods and data are available.

05Does ChemNexum support bioplastics?

Yes. The initial beta workflow generates bounded formulations, calculates supported metrics, filters constraints and performs transparent multi-objective ranking.

06What are Sustainable Technology modules?

They are future scientific workflows for selected process, resource and technology trade-off problems. A module is enabled only with suitable data, methods and validation.

07Where do material properties come from?

Each value carries a source category and provenance. It may be measured, user supplied, imported, literature-based, calculated, simulated, predicted or estimated.

08How are predictions validated?

Predictions store the model version and uncertainty, then can be compared with measured experimental results without overwriting history.

09Can we upload our own experimental data?

Private dataset import is part of the product architecture. Mapping, units and validation must be confirmed before data become application state.

10Is customer research data isolated?

Yes. Organization-scoped data is private by default and authorization is enforced server-side. Proprietary data is not shared across tenants.

11Can ChemNexum integrate proprietary models?

The adapter and model registry architecture is designed for versioned private models, subject to technical and contractual review.

12Can ChemNexum integrate internal databases?

Controlled integrations can be developed with explicit access, mapping, provenance and least-privilege requirements.

13Can custom scientific modules be developed?

Yes. A module defines schemas, validations, adapters, models, objectives, limitations and provenance requirements.

14Can ChemNexum run on private infrastructure?

Private deployment is an architectural direction. Availability depends on the required scientific engines, integrations and operational model.

15How are computational results traced?

Runs record inputs, protocol and model versions, reproducibility parameters, timestamps and provenance without disclosing confidential implementation details.

16How does ChemNexum handle uncertainty?

Where applicable it shows confidence, intervals, applicability, missing variables, assumptions and extrapolation warnings.

17Does ChemNexum provide regulatory certification?

No. It does not certify materials, products or regulatory compliance. Qualified testing and authorized assessment remain necessary.

18Who develops ChemNexum?

ChemNexum is developed by Itala Tecnologia Informatica S.r.l.

19How can we request a demo?

Use the demo request form and describe the problem at a non-confidential level. The team will evaluate the most relevant workflow.
